As Spring Break approaches, college students are gearing up for a week of fun, relaxation, and adventure. However, when planning your Spring Break getaway, it’s important to consider destinations that cater to the needs and preferences of Black students. This year, Biloxi, Mississippi, takes the crown as the ultimate Spring Break destination for Black students, hosting its 14th annual Black Spring Break celebration from April 11th to April 14th. With car shows, beach parties, concerts, and more, Biloxi promises an unforgettable experience.

Notably absent from our list of top destinations is Florida, particularly Miami, due to recent political developments that have made the state less welcoming to Black students. Also, take note that Miami Beach has cracked down on Spring Break visitors by implementing new rules such as curfews, restricted beach access, bag checks, DUI checkpoints, and expensive parking fees. The NAACP has issued a travel advisory for Black people against visiting Florida stating, “Please be advised that Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals.”

Austin, Texas, offers a unique blend of live music, delicious cuisine, and outdoor adventures that make it a top Spring Break destination for Black students. From exploring the vibrant nightlife on Sixth Street to indulging in mouthwatering barbecue, Austin has something for everyone.

 Las Vegas, Nevada

         THE ULTIMATE PARTY DESTINATION

Sin City is synonymous with entertainment, offering world-class casinos, pool parties, and nightlife that attract visitors from around the globe. Black students can party in style and enjoy luxury accommodations, dining, and entertainment options in Las Vegas.

 New Orleans, Louisiana

         THE BIG EASY

New Orleans is a cultural mecca known for its rich history, delicious cuisine, and vibrant music scene. Black students can explore the French Quarter, indulge in Creole and Cajun cuisine, and dance the night away to jazz music in the birthplace of jazz.

 Coachella Valley, California

         MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL

For music lovers and festival-goers, Coachella Music and Arts Festival is a must-attend event. With its diverse lineup of artists, art installations, and immersive experiences, Coachella offers a unique Spring Break experience unlike any other.
