Juneteenth is more than a date—it’s a story of freedom, family, and the fight for dignity. For Black parents, it’s a time to reflect, rejoice, and reclaim history through the eyes of our children. That’s exactly what the innovative children’s brand HBCyoU Kidz™ sets out to do this year with the heartwarming release of their new children’s book and animated video, Miss Juneteenth.
Just in time for Juneteenth celebrations across the nation, HBCyoU Kidz™ introduces an inspiring, educational experience that blends Black culture, joyful storytelling, and beautiful visuals to spark conversations and pride in young hearts.

Miss Juneteenth — A Crown-Worthy Celebration
Written by Brooke Hart Jones and illustrated by Cameron Wilson, Miss Juneteenth is a vibrant story that follows a young girl named Nicole as she prepares for a Juneteenth pageant. But this isn’t just about dresses and tiaras—Nicole’s journey helps children understand the true meaning of Juneteenth, as well as the pride, power, and resilience of our ancestors.
Perfect for children ages 3–8, Miss Juneteenth celebrates tradition, freedom, and self-esteem. It offers young readers a mirror to see themselves as beautiful, confident, and rooted in a rich heritage. Available now on Amazon, this paperback is ideal for classroom libraries, bedtime reading, or community story time at your local Juneteenth event.
Jones shares, “It just launched less than a month ago. So excited to ‘Share the Magic’ of HBCUs with children far and wide while teaching Black history and encouraging education.”
New Song and Animation on YouTube: “Happy Juneteenth!
As if the book weren’t enough, HBCyoU Kidz™ is also premiering an original animated Juneteenth celebration song called “Happy Juneteenth” on their official YouTube channel. Debuting June 10, 2025, the musical video blends vibrant animation with uplifting lyrics to make learning about Juneteenth fun, memorable, and meaningful.
In the words of creator Brooke Hart Jones, “Juneteenth is a day of remembrance and celebration. I wrote the book and song to help children see the beauty of this holiday and the strength of the people who lived it.”
From the soulful melodies to the engaging visuals, this song is destined to become a family favorite—and an annual tradition.
