In a world where artistry often overshadows authenticity, Houston’s own R&B gentleman,
Denaron stands tall, not just as a soulful crooner but as a devoted father.

Known for his velvety voice, heartfelt lyrics, and a signature sound that blends the soul of
Ronald Isley and Luther Vandross with the freshness of Musiq Soulchild and Usher, Denaron is
breathing new life into contemporary R&B. But beyond the mic and the stage lights, there’s a
title that means the most to him: Dad, to his 14-year-old daughter, London.

As he celebrates the release of his latest album, The Gentlemen (March 28, 2025), Denaron sat
down with us to reflect on music, manhood, and his most important role—fatherhood.

Q: What inspired your new album, The Gentlemen?

Denaron: The Gentlemen is a dedication to real love and emotional maturity. I wanted to create
something timeless, something that reflects the way a man should show up for love, for family,
for life. It’s not just music to me, it’s a blueprint, especially for Black men. And honestly, my
daughter inspired a lot of it. She made me want to create something I’d be proud to have her
listen to.

Q: Speaking of your daughter, London, how has being a father shaped your artistry?

Denaron: Being London’s dad gave my music deeper meaning. It shifted my purpose. I want to
leave her with songs that uplift, educate, and represent what love should feel like. Tracks like
“Deserve It” and “Privacy” came from wanting her to grow up with examples of respectful love.
Being her father made me more intentional with my words and message.

Q: What’s your relationship with London like?

Denaron: It’s real. It’s open. We talk about everything from life goals to what she’s going
through in school. We laugh a lot, we have deep conversations, and we ride around listening to
beats together. She’s my biggest fan and also one of my greatest teachers. She keeps me
grounded and inspired.

“…when you raise your children with purpose and pride, that’s the greatest success of all.”

Q: What are some things she’s passionate about?

Denaron: London is in the ninth grade, plays volleyball, and studies piano. She’s focused and full of
grace, just a beautiful spirit. Watching her grow, balance her academics, sports, and creative
passions, reminds me so much of my own journey starting out in music through church. She’s got
drive and heart.

Q: What are some of the values you’re intentionally teaching her?

Denaron: I teach her to lead with respect for herself and others. Faith is our foundation. I let
her see me pray before shows, because I want her to know that confidence should always come
with humility. I also teach her that talent is a gift, but character is your legacy. That’s what lasts.

Q: How do you balance your career and being an involved father?

Denaron: I prioritize her. I make sure I’m at her volleyball games, school events, and just
available when she needs me. I’m blessed to do what I love, but I’m more blessed to do life with
her. No matter how busy the music gets, being her dad will always be my number one job.

Q: What message do you have for other Black fathers this Father’s Day?

Denaron: Be present. Be intentional. Don’t let society define your role; define it yourself. Our
kids need us, not just to provide but to connect, to lead, to love openly. Being a gentleman starts
at home. And when you raise your children with purpose and pride, that’s the greatest success of
all.

As Father’s Day draws near, Denaron’s message resonates far beyond the music charts. The
Gentlemen
is not only an album, it’s an anthem for love, legacy, and leadership.

Through smooth vocals and soul-stirring lyrics, Denaron is rewriting what it means to be a modern R&B artist and a present Black father.

Whether he’s serenading audiences or supporting London from the bleachers, one thing remains
true: being a gentleman isn’t just a brand, it’s a lifestyle. And being a father? That’s the
masterpiece.
