Founder and Publisher

Janice Robinson-Celeste

Early Childhood Specialist · Author · Host of BACKtalk

Janice Robinson-Celeste is the founder and publisher of Successful Black Parenting Magazine, the Iris Award-winning national publication for parents of Black children. She is an early childhood specialist and former classroom teacher who has done the job she now writes about: sitting across from parents, building trust with families and helping young children thrive.

Today the magazine reaches more than 150,000 monthly views across its website, weekly newsletter, social channels and the BACKtalk podcast, which she hosts. She also founded the National Black Parenting Conference, the Black Parenting Academy and the Secure Children’s Network.

Every article on this site is written for one reader: a parent raising a Black child who deserves advice that sees their child clearly.
