Asha Dornfest thinks that parents are the most prolific hackers around and we agree with her. She has practical parenting hacks in her new book Parent Hacks®: 134 Genius Shortcuts for Life with Kids. Here are a few that will help you with your toddler.

Try Parent Hack #34: Flatten the toilet paper roll to slow its rotation. Toddlers don’t have the manual dexterity to control the spin of the toilet paper roll, so squash the roll flat. The uneven skipping will slow the spin when potty training.

Help him out by trying Parent Hack #68. Cut a sticker in half and put one-half in each shoe to help your child put his shoe on the correct foot. When it’s time to put on his shoes, ask your child to “match up the picture.”
